La autenticidad es un concepto sumamente importante para una persona u organización en el largo plazo. Howard Schultz, fundador de Starbucks, dice que “la publicidad masiva puede ayudar a construir marcas pero es la autenticidad que las sostienen a través del tiempo.Si las personas comparten sus valores con los valores de la empresa, se convierten en clientes leales de esta marca.” (2012 Schultz: Pour Your Heart Into It)

El Marketing 3.0 del “padre del marketing moderno” Philip Kotler también se basa en la autenticidad.
