Social media users pass the 4.5 billion mark

Social media users pass the 4.5 billion mark | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

Digital 2021 October Global Statshot Report – published in partnership with We Are Social and Hootsuite – is packed with impressive milestones.

Via Oskar Almazan
Oskar Almazan's curator insight, October 22, 2021 10:24 AM
The ‘state of digital’ in October 2021 Let’s start with a look at the essential headlines for digital use around the world today: More than two-thirds of the world’s population uses a mobile phone today, with global users increasing by almost 100 million (+1.9 percent) over the past 12 months to reach 5.29 billion in October 2021. There are now 4.88 billion internet users around the world, which equates to almost 62 percent of the world’s population. The latest data show that global internet user numbers have increased by more than 220 million (+4.8 percent) over the past year, but with COVID-19 continuing to hamper research, the real figure may be considerably higher. Social media users increased by more than 400 million (+9.9 percent) over the past 12 months to reach 4.55 billion in October 2021. User growth has slowed slightly over the past 3 months, but the global total continues to increase at a rate of more than 1 million new users every single day. For context, the world’s population reached 7.89 billion at the start of October 2021, representing an increase of roughly 80 million people (+1 percent) compared with this time last year. Current growth rates indicate that the global population will exceed 8 billion by mid-2023.

Get On Board with Audio Content

Get On Board with Audio Content | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
Audio content is growing! If you are thinking of embarking on your own audio content project, you need to read this article by Shell

Via janlgordon
janlgordon's curator insight, June 9, 2017 12:09 AM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Shelly Kramer because it provides insights into the power of audio for your content marketing strategy.

Attract a larger audience with audio content.

Why Your Business Needs Audio Content

Both podcasts and live audio through Facebook are on the rise. I agree that you need to include this medium in order to take your marketing to the next level.

Kramer explains the impact of audio content on your business marketing reach.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Creating audio content is just the beginning. You also need to know how to execute a good marketing strategy to get the word out.

  • Consumers who get their content on the go are the most popular target market for audio. You should include this in at least 10 percent of your marketing budget.

  • It's very cost effective to use audio over video. This does not mean, however; that you should slack on the quality of the broadcast.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Mandeep Singh because it shows you how to improve your website rank with organic SEO techniques.

There are three phases to search engine optimization that can help improve your website visibility.

You can improve your ranking in search with the right methods in place. I agree that authority and trust are built upon original content with organic methods.

Singh provides 3 ways you can use to improve your SEO strategy.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The three main methods of search include web crawling, indexing, and results from keyword matching. The most relevant information will be picked up first.

  • Google updates its algorithm about 500 to 600 times a year. It occasionally performs a major update that can dramatically affect search results.

  • Write content that is easy and useful for your readers in order to avoid being penalized. This will also improve your results in search.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Shane Barker because it provides information on how to increase engagement on social media.

It's important to have a community that is interested in your brand content.

Drive Up Your Social Media Conversations

As you grow your audience online you will want to build lasting relationships with them. I agree that in order to encourage engagement you need to review your current strategy and make adjustments.

Barker explains how to post content that people will want to respond to.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Include humor in your tweets and posts. People want to be entertained, not just informed. Include images and relatable captions.

  • You will improve your chances of being seen if you include great images. There are free online programs that can help you achieve this.

  • Publish more video content -- these tend to get more reactions and feedback. Do this in between your images in a balanced way.

Always be blogging | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

When new businesses finally get their website up and running, their site is usually built with a blog page, waiting for the business to create content to share with website visitors. So, for the first few weeks or months they occasionally add content to the blog page (usually when they have time). This is one of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to promote their business.
