I selected this article from Curatti written by Joan Selby because it shows you how to boost your website traffic through an SEO audit.

You can rank higher than the competition with the right website optimization.

Improve Your Website with an SEO Audit

You can take your SEO strategy to a new level with the right audit techniques. I agree that by paying attention to this data you can fix errors in your website and be more successful with your visibility online.

Selby provides unique strategies you can use to improve your reach.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Become a master of Google Analytics. Pay attention to the number of daily visitors, where the traffic is coming from, which pages get the most traffic, and time spent on pages.

  • Include Bing Webmaster Tools in your analytics. Bing offers SEO reports, keyword research, and a link explorer to discover where the competition is getting their backlinks.

  • Make sure your website is secure with an SSL Certificate. This will improve both your reputation and ranking in search.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Eleonora Zolotaryova
because it shows you how to successfully redesign your website for better visibility.

Make Your Website More Successful

To attract subscribers your website needs to stand out online. I agree that a new design can help improve your chances.

Zolotaryova provides the right steps to take to make the necessary changes.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Before getting started it's important to analyze and narrow down your niche. For this to happen you need to take advantage of the right tools to learn more about what the competition is doing.

  • Use organic search methods to attract website traffic. Include a set of words and phrases that reflect your brand -- known as semantic core.

  • Perform a technical audit such as your URLs, Meta tags and titles, any broken links, ect. Fixing these errors will help more visitors see your website in search.

Why Google Does Not Like 'Dofollow' Links in Sponsored Posts

Why Google Does Not Like 'Dofollow' Links in Sponsored Posts | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
Some solicitations for sponsored content come with the demand that you include follow links. Resist the temptation to take the money. Here's why

Via janlgordon
janlgordon's curator insight, February 28, 2017 11:06 PM

I selected this article from Curatti written by Andy Capaloff because it explains why you should avoid "dofollow" links when publishing sponsored posts.

Why follow links are a turn-off when it comes to Google search.

Avoid Using Follow Links in Sponsored Posts

In order to maintain growth on your blog it's important to follow the rules when it comes to search. I agree that your sponsored posts should not include "dofollow" links in order to avoid penalties and losing valuable traffic.

Capaloff explains the rules that Google has set forth and how they calculate your PageRank.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Using a follow link can negatively impact your website's ranking in search results. Google refers to these as "link schemes," and you don't want your blog associated with these.

  • In some instances a website can be completely removed from Google's index if they include follow links. The company who has paid you can also be penalized along with you.

  • A penalty might appear anywhere from a few months to a year later. It rarely happens right away, but will catch up with you eventually.
