I selected this article from Curatti written by Susan Gilbert because it provides insight into how to improve your email marketing with 15 different approaches.

Improve your open rates by catching the reader's attention.

Send Out Emails That Get Opened

You can improve your chances of your business emails being seen by using creativity and enticing content. I agree that this will help reduce your bounce rates and improve your reach.

Gilbert provides 15 tips in a helpful infographic with bonus tips covering email subject lines.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Tell a recent story your business experienced. Point out what you learned and how it changed your approach. People are drawn to transparency.

  • Write about something simple that the reader can do right away. For example, a ten minute workout that they can begin now.

  • Provide a hint about a new product release. Building anticipation makes great content and increase your sales once you launch your product.

Avoid These 10 Business Email Errors

Avoid These 10 Business Email Errors | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it
Writing business emails is not as straightforward and simple as we would like to think. One small unintentional error can quickly take things south.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Niraj Ranjan because it covers how to best approach your prospects.

Some phrases are outdated and inappropriate for business emails.

How to Communicate With Your Subscribers

It just takes a few words to lose the attention of a potential customer. I agree that in order to have more sales you should write your message in a way that is appealing and does not have a direct sales pitch.

Ranjan explains several phrases that do not work well for business emails.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • An overused cliche is, "Don't hesitate to contact me." It is not only over polite, but also sounds too phony. People are already aware that they can approach your business for further clarification on information.

  • Avoid filler phrases such as, "I hope you're well." These are hollow statements without true meaning or emotion. Instead keep the introduction light, and get straight to the point.

  • If your prospect asks a question responding with, "I don't know" is unprofessional. This gives the reader the wrong impression -- instead offer an answer that allows you to get back to them with the right information that they are looking for.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Niraj Ranjan because he shows you the right way to approach your leads with the right subject line in your emails.

Avoid having your important emails end up in spam folders.

Create a Stand-Out Subject Line For Your Prospect Emails

Over half of all emails sent out are earmarked as spam. I agree that in order to be seen your business needs to approach your potential customers in relevant and timely way.

Ranjan explains both the pitfalls and the winning styles of writing subject lines.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Address the topics that matter the most to your readers. This can include trending events and subjects that appeal to their interests.

  • Keep your subject lines 30 characters or less. These are easier to read and have the best open rates.

  • Include action words that tell your recipients what you are expecting from them and the purpose of your email. Write your subject line in an active voice.

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jenn Herman because it covers how to attract more subscribers through social media.

Use social media to increase your email subscribers and influence.

How Email Goes Hand-in-Hand with Your Marketing

If you run a blog then you know how important it is to build a large list of subscribers. I agree that in order to reach more people you should include social media in your strategy.

Herman explains several ways to leverage your community and attract more subscribers.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • Include a message and optin on your Facebook profile on your Page. Use a professional, eye-catching image and profile photo to attract attention.

  • Take advantage of live video and attract an audience in real-time. Be sure to include a strong call-to-action at the end of your broadcast.

  • Host a contest or giveaway with a dedicated sign-up page that directs your social media community to your website. Include beautiful images and/or videos to make your message stand out.
