I think that this is a smart approach by Princeton University. Banning the use of the new technology would be difficult to police, and it would probably not work anyway. Instead, their policy of leaving it to the professors to decide their own policy when it comes to allowing the use of ChatGPT or not and under what circumstances is probably the position I imagine most universities will take.
