Creative teaching and learning

This article caught my eye because many and most teachers and professors do not think that social media is useful for their students. I was surprised to read that this is actually false. I liked how they compared twitter to academic writing. Sometimes you have  to be concise with your words and while using Twitter, you are limited to 140 characters per tweet. Most students use social media sites daily so this might also help them with their papers if they compare them to writing a tweet or a Facebook status. I know after reading this article, that social media can help me with my academic writing.

I chose this article because just by looking at the title, I knew it was going to be a positive reading. So many people look at our generation as we are "always on twitter", which is absolutely true. What these people don't realize is that social media isn't always a negative. I really loved how the author took something that many teachers look down upon and turned it into something very creative. I totally agree with everything in the article. Students are going to always use social media so school's need to just take it to their advantage. I know students would be eager to complete an assignment if it had to do with twitter or Instragram because thats their specialty. 

I never saw myself using pictures to create training, but now that I think of it, Social media has added much value to todays accomplishments.
