@Moodlefairy shares tips on using the updated Lesson in 2.9

@Moodlefairy shares tips on using the updated Lesson in 2.9 | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Another benefit of the 2.9 release was some refactoring and improvement to the Lesson module. Mary Cooch recently highlighted some of the possible uses of, and improvements to the Moodle Lesson Module, such as:

user overrides can be created like a quiz
full wysiwyg marking for essays captured
group support
time minimums

Check out what’s changed with the lesson in the tracker. View Mary’s presentation given at the Ireland/UK Moot last week in Dublin here or below: http://www.slideshare.net/moodlefairy/lesson-tlc

Moodle 2.9 QA Testing now over 95%

Moodle 2.9 QA Testing now over 95% | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Moodle’s QA Testing round for 2.9 now looks to be over 95% complete with about 15 open tracker tickets left to be further developed, fixed, tested or peer reviewed. There is a short list of “must fix” items for Moodle’s 2.9 release pending as well.

Great work to the bug finders and QA testers who volunteered to try out the new features and validate that they were in working order. If you have not yet joined the effort and want to help get the release over the finish line you can get connected here: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=311780

To review the open tickets check out http://goo.gl/0odk7D

A list of the ‘must fix’ items left to be resolved is available here: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL/fixforversion/14751/

Finally, if you’re just interested in trying out one of the new features in 2.9 (like the many in the quiz or highlighted here) you can demo a working version of 2.9 at http://qa.moodle.net/

Moodle 2.9 is now available!

Moodle 2.9 is now available! | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

It gives me great pleasure to officially announce Moodle 2.9, our latest major release that packages up all the new things from the past six months of work.

This release has a lot of new things in it (over 360 issues), ranging from some great interface improvements in many areas such as navigation, messaging, lesson and quiz, to things in the backend that designers and developers will be happy about, such as full support for jQuery and the mustache templating library (which I hope explains the Moodle kids photo for this release! )

For the best overview of everything new start with our New Features page or watch our series of explanatory videos below:

For more technical details see the full Moodle 2.9 Release Notes and our Upgrading page.  And of course to download it just go to our download page or use Git.

As always, thanks so much to the entire community of developers, teachers and others who contributed towards this release, and especially our dedicated team at Moodle HQ and the Moodle Partners who support us.

We are now already busy on Moodle 3.0, due in November!
