How To Find Openly Licensed Educational Resources You Can Use [Infographic] | OER | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Most of us turn to the internet when we are looking for resources to use for a presentation, report or article. The internet holds the key to so many robust resources.

Yet how many of these resources can you legally use for free? How many of them can you adapt?

That’s where Open Educational Resources (OER) can help. Here’s an infographic from the Center for Open Educational Resources and Language Learning (at the University of Texas at Austin) that can help.

Academic Libraries and Open Educational Resources: Developing Partnerships | ALA Annual 2016

Academic Libraries and Open Educational Resources: Developing Partnerships | ALA Annual 2016 | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
A number of higher education–focused sessions at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference touched on issues surrounding student retention and completion—and with the costs of tuition, housing, and materials constantly rising, saving students money is a major consideration. When the conversation includes state and community colleges, and a student body that may have less access to financial resources, finding strategies to cut costs becomes more important than ever. Open educational resources (OER)—freely accessible texts and media that faculty can assemble, repurpose, and package under open access agreements for teaching and research—are a rapidly growing option.

Open educational resources: Maximize teacher time and engage students

Open educational resources: Maximize teacher time and engage students | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Open educational resources are teaching and learning materials that are freely available online for use and can be remixed, revised, and redistributed.

Jennifer Colin's curator insight, October 25, 2015 3:50 PM

Open education resources (OER) are a free and easy way to utilize the Internet for teaching and learning.  Over 70% of teachers consider free content as the most important factor when evaluating the quality of content to use in their classrooms.  With budget constraints in most districts forcing teachers to be very selective with their purchases, grade-level, content-specific resources at no cost are invaluable.  One such resource our school has begun using is Khan Academy for PSAT and SAT preparation.  I am very Dutch (read: cheap) so as an administrator I know I will always be looking for high quality at the lowest possible price. OER provides a great way to engage and teach students at no additional cost, and administrators should ensure that teachers are aware and taking advantage of this cyber gift.
