By the time technology is offeriing new advantages and tools to support the teachers' work, different platforms to develop courses are appearing to facilitate both teaching and learning. To illustrate, a new way to carry out a course with students is moodle which is an area where different resources and activities are added by the teacher for the students to work and to follow a learning process in a specific matter. The moodle course can be a simple web page in which students have the opportunity to download documents or it also can be a more complex number of activities where learning progresses through interaction. The moodle courses are a valuable tool which permit learning not only to be on-site but it also can be from your house without spending too much time. In this article, the 5 things that teachers have to do to create a moodle course the first time are present to take into account and to do a really good job in the creation of the virtual course where students can find the information and support they need to have a successful learning process.

I thought this was in interesting little picture. Teachers don't make a lot of money especially starting out so this will most likely be a necessity for me in starting my career

Abstract Online learning is growing at a rapid rate across the United States (Durrington, Berryhill & Swafford, 2006; Tabatabaei, Schrottner, & Reichgelt, 2006). However, course evaluation systems have not kept up with these changes and are often inadequate for evaluating the unique expectations and demands faced by online instructors. Typically, online instructors are evaluated using instruments designed for face-to-face classroom instruction (Mandernach, Donnelli, Dailey, Schulte, (2005). As a result, important indicators of effective teaching in an online format are not evaluated by students. Key competencies for online instruction can include instructor response rate and availability, frequency and quality of instructor presence, community building, assessment, and overall management of the course (Luck, 2001; Firch & Montambeau, 2000). Evaluation specific to online instructors is beneficial in informing online instructors of how their specific behaviors are viewed by students, providing data to administrators for faculty evaluation purposes (Tobin, 2004), and useful for planning and providing professional development opportunities (Mandernach, Donnelli, Dailey, Schulte, (2005). |
