Science is pretty clear Learning by teaching can help improve student efficacy, confidence and communication skills. You can accomplish that by using adjuncts, have them teach during a lesson, teach small groups within the larger group. I’m a huge fan of peers teaching each other ...

How To Train 68.8 Million Teachers. Because That's How Many The World Needs | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

"Number four among the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals is providing every child in the world with quality education by 2030. There are currently about 260 million children out of school.

According to brand new statistics from UNESCO, “countries must recruit 68.8 million teachers” over the next 14 years in order to provide “every child with primary and secondary education.” That breaks down to 24.4 million primary teachers and 44.4 million secondary teachers."

My Transformation as a Teacher

My Transformation as a Teacher | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Pernille Ripp, 7th grade teacher in WI, shares her transformation and pathways to personalized learning environments and passionate learners.

Via Kathleen McClaskey
Kathleen McClaskey's curator insight, January 25, 2016 12:00 PM

Pernille offers insight on why she embraces personalized learning after 6 years.  She points out that the journey she has taken to transform herself is really about the learners that she teaches. Here is an excerpt that says it all.

"Six years ago, I set out on a journey that would challenge my belief that education was an institution that could not be changed, but instead had to be blindly followed no matter the collateral damage in its wake. I now know that the day I started asking my learners what changes they needed to become more engaged learners, was the day that I made a difference in the way education can be used. Yet this change is fundamentally not about me. It is about the learners I teach and it is for them that we must embrace a more meaningful way of educating. Call it personalizing learning or some other title, but in the end, we must make the very education that we are stewards of become about the kids that we teach again."

3 Ways of Getting Student Feedback to Improve Your Teaching

3 Ways of Getting Student Feedback to Improve Your Teaching | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Why You Must Reflect and Improve
Students are what we do. They are the center of our classroom, not us. However, as a teacher, I am the most impactful single person in the classroom. Honest feedback from our students will help me level up.

I've been doing this for more than ten years. Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry -- and sometimes I'm mortified. But I can honestly say that every single piece of feedback I've received has made me a better teacher. And great teachers are never afraid of having or inviting hard conversations. This is one of best practices that has helped me to be a better, more excited teacher every year.

Student Voice is invaluable to the effectiveness of the educator.
Dr. Deborah Brennan's curator insight, April 2, 2015 10:20 AM

i agree!  As a teacher, I always sought to improve and make my classroom more effective for students.  End of year surveys helped a lot.  I also had students write letters to next year's students.  This gave me insight into how the course and classroom activities helped or hampered their learning.  summer is a great -- there is actually time to reflect.  as lessons change, there is time to do researxh and gather resources.

Sara Jaramillo's curator insight, April 23, 2020 2:21 PM
Teaching, no matter what topic comes up with a big responsability. We must be aware of how we provide feedback to our students, use the correct words, focus on the important mistakes but also recognizing the setrengs of put students in order to motivate them.

The 6 Stages Of A Teaching Career - TeachThought

The 6 Stages Of A Teaching Career - TeachThought | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
I’ve been thinking about this, and there really is a life cycle to teaching.

Not every teacher will experience every stage–or every stage to the same degrees, anyway. Some may notice very little of this at all. And while the sequence may be more or less universal, the duration of each stage may not be. Some teachers may even get stuck in one stage and never develop any further. So take this all with a grain of salt.

Have a look and see what you think.

Why The Teacher Of The Future Will Be Neither Man Nor Machine | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

Is Teaching Style an Ethical Issue? A Perspective on Using Digital Resources in the Classroom

Is Teaching Style an Ethical Issue? A Perspective on Using Digital Resources in the Classroom | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
Upon first reading the article "Is Embracing Digital Learning a Moral Issue for Educators?" by Wesley Fryer published on www.SpeedofCreativity.org , I was quick to believe that the subject is being blown out of proportion.  To regard a teacher's choice not to be a "21st Century educator" by using digital resources as immoral or unethical seems rash and inappropriate. Also, applying ethical codes to a such a diverse, and often subjective, practice seems implausible. The unique approaches of our public schools’ teachers are what make public education beautiful and invaluable. Digital learning is just one of many ways teachers vary in methodology. Therefore, it seems unfair to judge how a teacher chooses to teach.
