Education at a Glance 2019: 5 key findings via @MindshareLearning  | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
The 2019 edition of our Education at a Glance report provides a comprehensive overview of education systems in OECD member and partner countries, including detailed indicators across all levels of education. Here are 5 key takeaways.

“...let’s not waste new beginnings.”
R - Overall, the OECD has a good reputation of being reliable and showing accurate facts. The author, Marie-Hélène Doumet, also doesn’t seem to have a troubling reputation.
A - This article, published by the OECD, is heavily based on statistics and their own percentages. Because of this, the author could simply just be reporting about an issue and did not experience anything first hand.
V - At the end of the day, this author will be paid by her boss no matter what. Thus, there is vested interest because the writer will be receiving a form of payment by writing and publishing this article.
E - Marie-Hélène Doumet is the Senior Analyst and the OECD Directorate for Education and Skills. Because this article is mostly made up of statistics and percentages, her being the Senior Analyst makes her qualified to write an article written like this one.
N - I think Doumet was successfully able to remain neutral and explicitly just state facts and logical conclusions from those facts. Some of the topics, such as women being more likely to complete tertiary education than men, could be perceived as biased since she herself is a woman, but she quickly stated facts and showed percentages that support her claim.

Fourth Industrial Revolution | Explore | TOPLINK | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

The Fourth Industrial Revolution represents a fundamental change in the way we live, work and relate to one another. It is a new chapter in human development, enabled by extraordinary technology advances commensurate with those of the first, second and third industrial revolutions. These advances are merging the physical, digital and biological worlds in ways that create both huge promise and potential peril. The speed, breadth and depth of this revolution is forcing us to rethink how countries develop, how organisations create value and even what it means to be human. The Fourth Industrial Revolution is about more than just technology-driven change; it is an opportunity to help everyone, including leaders, policy-makers and people from all income groups and nations, to harness converging technologies in order to create an inclusive, human-centred future. The real opportunity is to look beyond technology, and find ways to give the greatest number of people the ability to positively impact their families, organisations and communities.
