Quality Beats Quantity for Social Media

Quality Beats Quantity for Social Media | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it
"How important is the follower count on your social media?". Hint: quality beats quantity, but there's more to it than that!

I selected this article from Curatti written by Jenn Herman because it provides a close look at the types of social media followers your business needs to have.

It's important to have a community that is invested in your brand.

The Importance of Quality Social Media Followers

While you can grow a large audience quickly this may not necessarily be a benefit to your influence online. I agree that is it better to focus on the quality of the follower and not the big numbers.

Herman explains how to attract authentic followers who are interested in what your business has to offer.

Here's what caught my attention:

  • The number of followers still matters if you want your content to be shared. They key is to have a targeted audience who will spread the word.

  • Instead of focusing on higher numbers produce quality content instead. Along with this provide great social customer service.

  • Set realistic goals on your social platform growth. For example, a ten percent increase each month. This is subject to fluctuations and changes as you monitor your accounts.

How much your site was impacted by Penguin 3.0 depends on the industry you’re in, the rankings you have, and the competition you’re sharing the SERP with (and potentially lots of other unknown factors).

(From the article): How much your site was impacted by Penguin 3.0 depends on the industry you’re in, the rankings you have, and the competition you’re sharing the SERP with (and potentially lots of other unknown factors).

You will never know for sure what happened unless you keep your eyes on Google. We will certainly do the same and share it with you if we spot anything out of the ordinary.

Social Media for Lead Generation

Social Media for Lead Generation | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

The use of social media platforms by sales people to generate leads and convert them into successful B2B conversions to generate revenue is summed as the concept of social selling. It’s an approach that leverages the use of various social media tools to filter targeted information based on locations, business verticals & social media profiles. The process enables sales professionals to post social updates, tweets & messages on the social media domain from their personal accounts to build their credibility as industry experts.

Some may see conversion as an online transaction, others as a sign up or an upgrade to a paid plan. Conversion objectives vary and are therefore crucial to define the attributes for different referrers & social networks. Determine the original referrer as the first touch attribution where they first heard & saw the social content or was it the referrer of the visit where the story was seen and where the actual conversion occurred as the last touch attribution.

What Kind of Content Curator Are You?

What Kind of Content Curator Are You? | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

Pawan Deshpande, CEO of HiveFire has written this interesting post about content curation and how to match your personality to the type of curation that best suits you. Interesting observations:

Excerpt:

Personality type can play a big part in your content curation style, from the types of content you share to where you share it and how you go about the process.

Many marketers are now adding content curation— the act of finding, organizing and sharing online content to engage customers and prospects—to their job descriptions. As with other marketing strategies, personality type can play a big part in your content curation style, from the types of content you share to where you share it and how you go about the process.

What’s your curation type? Match your own personality to the qualities below so you can embrace your inner curator.
