A psychologist shares the 10 qualities of the most authentic people

A psychologist shares the 10 qualities of the most authentic people | Help and Support everybody around the world | Scoop.it

In a society roided-out on bling, cash, ego, nakedness, and status, we have lost our authenticity.

We have lost morals and what it means to be ourselves. So many are caught up in following the crowd they have gotten lost in it. How can any type of true success come from being a follower?

Followers are lost to their authenticity and are chasers of "status" and "wealth." Followers are competitive, insecure, and consistently positioning and provoking to one-up each other. The stand-out successes we all admire are not in the crowd, they aren’t chasing cash, or being cool.

It doesn’t mean they don’t love nice things or indulge in them; it means they approach success from a different mindset.

10 Words Smart People Always Use (and 7 They Never Do)

10 Words Smart People Always Use (and 7 They Never Do) | Help and Support everybody around the world | Scoop.it
"If" improves performance when describing a hypothetical positive.

Here's a universal truth. No one likes to be wrong, especially in front of other people.

When you're facing a lot of "I don't knows" during a brainstorm or tough challenge, there's a word that can alleviate the pressure of being wrong and open up a pathway of critical thinking: If

Tim David, author of Magic Words: The Science and Secrets Behind Seven Words That Motivate, Engage, and Influence, employs this magic word in a very specific sentence I plan to borrow a lot:

"What would you say if you did know?"

As he explains, deploying the magic "if" allows those you're addressing to think hypothetically, taking away the pressure that might prevent them from volunteering an answer.

The rights words can motivate, inspire, and even change lives. The right words can turn an otherwise meaningless conversation into an unforgettable moment for your audience.

But" as in "I hear what you say BUT" . It means I haven't heard
"Hope" There is a complete lack of certainty and confidence in this word. Having a game plan beats "Hoping" to win.

9 Questions Emotionally Intelligent People Always Ask

9 Questions Emotionally Intelligent People Always Ask | Help and Support everybody around the world | Scoop.it

Emotional Intelligence (EI or EQ) has been a hot Inc. topic written by many of my colleagues. I've also registered my thoughts on the power of EQ in leadership, or how to respond with emotional intelligence to people who push your buttons.

But ask any scholar and they'll tell you the study of EQ has not had a smooth history. It has been debated since the mid-1990s over its effectiveness as an evidence-based leadership model,  or as a predictor of job success.

Sure, I agree that in many professions -- some higher-level teaching, medicine, accounting, engineering, and other highly-technical professions -- IQ still remains the best predictor of job success.

9 Questions You Need To Ask

Daniel Goleman, the foremost authority on emotional intelligence, has put together these questions to help you evaluate your own emotional intelligence, and get you thinking about your strengths and limitations in EQ.

Are you usually aware of your feelings and why you feel that way?

Emotional Intelligence is even more important in today's modern world where automation is the new normal. We must focus on developing the skills that essentially make us more human.
