As a fellow introvert and a professional speaker I found this interesting and I could relate to much of it, particularly when I was new on my public speaking journey. However, I disagree with the point Hannah makes about the energy the speaker picks up from the audience. She says " Extrovert presenters get their energy from their audience – remember they thrive on that kind of stimulation – but that’s really overwhelming for an introvert". Regardless of your style introvert or extravert, to be an effective speaker you must be in tune with your audience. That includes reading theri cues, watching their body language and using their energy as instant feedback. I have never found this to be overwhelming but all part of being in the audience-centred zone that is required of me to make a meanigful connection.
