We have all seen list upon list of “cool tools,” “web 2.0 websites,” “educational apps.” They are a great source for the latest and greatest websites/tools in education. The problem is that they all fall short when it comes to talking about technology skills. Identifying and teaching transferable technology skills are crucial for students to not only be college and career ready, but also to prepare them to lead productive lives in an increasingly global and digital world. Ultimately these types of lists are a detriment to teachers and the effective integration of technology into the classroom. Any one of these web tools that a freshman in high school learns today will most likely not exist or will be replaced by something better in 8-10 years when that freshman graduates from college. However, if teachers change their approach to focus on transferable technology skills (i.e. the NETS-S) it will make the integration of technology more meaningful and prepare our students with skills they can take with them in the future. In the world of academia, Google search engine does not always serve the purpose because most of the time its search results are not exact . I am a huge fan of Google but when it comes to academic search queries I often have recourse to other search engines that are area or content specific. Meograph es una herramienta que nos permite crear una historia, combinando diferentes momentos organizados en una línea de tiempo, en los que podemos introducir mapas, narraciones escritas o en audio, vídeos de Youtube, imágenes y enlaces. Su manejo es muy sencillo. Primero debemos registrarnos, a través de Facebook o con nuestra cuenta de correo. Una vez dentro, clicamos en el botón “Create a Meograph” para ir añadiendo los distintos "momentos" a nuestro montaje. Antes de comenzar nuestra historia podemos elegir, desde nuestro ordenador, una imagen que acompañe al título elegido (podemos hacerlo también después, pues nos permite editarlo cuando queramos) Via Alvaro Monroy López, juandoming

There is is the possibility that poverty may prevent the stimulation needed for children to develop their curiosity which leads to learning. Poverty could be confining in terms of not sufficient nutrients in order to help develop the neural network. Also poverty seems to isolate children from social interactions which is critical for development; audrey@homeschoolsource.co.uk.
