Free Technology for Teachers: How to Create an Animated GIF

Free Technology for Teachers: How to Create an Animated GIF | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
Animated GIFs can be handy for quickly showing a process or sequence of events. Check out Common Craft's soccer guide for great examples of using animated GIFs to illustrate concepts. And, of course, GIFs are fun to use to make a point in a social media post. If you want to make your own animated GIFs, try using the Docs365 GIFmaker Google Slides add-on. In the video that is embedded below I demonstrate how to make an animated GIF from your Google Slides.

MAKE IT then MOVE IT: animated GIF - Dryden Art - Tricia Fugelstad @FugleFun

MAKE IT then MOVE IT: animated GIF - Dryden Art - Tricia Fugelstad @FugleFun | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
A long time ago I responded to Ian Sands on twitter asking for digital images of children's art that he could offer to his high school students to play with as they learn to animate. Some of his students selected my students "He Came with the Chair" paintings. The animations turned out SO adorable and inspiring-see example below or check them all out here. It has been one of my goals to figure out an elementary level lesson with a straightforward app that would give my students the experience of animating their own artwork in the same style. I think I might have figured it out. This technique isn't perfect, but, it will work.

This project marries both physical and digital media production in the elementary art studio. I'm sure this lesson took a lot of creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration to facilitate. I wonder what would be the best format to share the final products with the community?
