50 Animation Tools And Resources For Digital Learners – TeachThought

50 Animation Tools And Resources For Digital Learners – TeachThought | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
Educators need to decide which tool is best for them. If you want to create your own animation from scratch, then you want to go to sites such as Animwork. If you want to select from an animation that’s already set up, for you then perhaps Explainia makes more sense.

One of the easiest ways to animate, however, isn’t with your own camera and modeling clay, it’s with your links to sites that hand you everything within their own forums.

Use the first part of this list for creating original animation or using animation tools to create lessons. Use the second part to select animated lessons that are already completed and set to share.

Small Scale Animation with Cardboard | The Tinkering Studio

Small Scale Animation with Cardboard | The Tinkering Studio | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

"As part of the Infinite Versatility of Cardboard last week, we made new cardboard pieces on the laser cutter to use with our stop motion animation stations. We found the animated shorts that resulted so surprisingly delightful that we’ve continued to offer these cardboard pieces at the animation station a week running!

Some of the new cardboard pieces are abstract shapes, not much different than what we usually offer in wooden shapes. We also cut out silhouette objects, including planets, houses, and trees."

Share it! Science : DIY Zoetrope Animation STEAM Project | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
This DIY zoetrope is the perfect STEAM project for kids who love art, science and engineering. You most likely have all of the supplies you need around the house, or can get them easily and inexpensively.

Have you ever played with a zoetrope? Zoetropes are simple devices that pre-date film animation. The viewer looks through the slits in a spinning cylinder and sees an animated image.

Could be great for modelling mitosis or meiosis, or phase changes for water, or the process of birth, or cloning. The possibilities are endless!
