Free Technology for Teachers: How #Coffee Affects Your Brain @rmbyrne | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it

Like millions of people, I start my day by brewing coffee. On those rare days when I discover we're out of coffee at home, it can totally throw my morning out of wack. Heck, I even pick hotel rooms based on whether or not they have in-room coffee makers. In other words, I'm addicted to coffee. What is it about coffee that gives it so much power in our lives?

Three coffees a day linked to a range of health benefits | iPads, MakerEd and More in Education | Scoop.it
People who drink three to four cups of coffee a day are more likely to see health benefits than problems, experiencing lower risks of premature death and heart disease than those who abstain, scientists have said.

The research, which collated evidence from more than 200 previous studies, also found coffee consumption was linked to lower risks of diabetes, liver disease, dementia and some cancers.

And every coffee loving educator on the planet said a collective "YES!"" ;-)
Emily McBride's curator insight, October 25, 2019 11:00 PM
Coffee, which  is one of the most consumed beverages in the world can have great health benefits in people who consumer 3-4 drinks a day. Evidence has shown that drinking coffee linked to lower risk of diabetes, dementia, heart diseases, and much more. Some may argue that coffee consumption isn't safe, however this may be due to the fact that some people load up their cups of coffee with cream and sugar which take away from the healing benefits it has to offer. Working in the coffee industry has shown me that most people do not like to drink their coffee black so this study may throw off many coffee drinkers and encourage them to continue their unhealthy habits because they think they will be benefitting from it.
