IF YOU’RE BUILDING an app or website and you need a photo of a pineapple, a beach in Okinawa, a young woman wearing sunglasses, or a monk feeding a tiger, check out Unsplash. The vast online repository features 200,000 high-resolution images, every one of them free to download and use however you like. Create an ad, illustrate a Medium post, assemble your next album cover, whatever.

Some big names have grown hip to Unsplash. When Facebook launched its Slack competitor Workplace, it turned to Unsplash for marketing photos. Visit the Apple App Store and you’ll see Unsplash photos in the screenshots of many apps appearing in the “featured” slot. But you don’t have to be a tech company to quickly and easily mine the Unsplash archive. The company just made its primary developer tool available to everyone for free.

Os ebooks são um tipo de aplicação multimédia que se impôs nos últimos anos como uma séria alternativa à tecnologia analógica baseada em papel, fruto das muitas vantagens que o suporte digital proporciona para melhorar a experiência da leitura. O Epic Book Guide, descrito neste artigo, é interessante na medida em que ajuda a compreender que apps de leitura de ebooks existem, como as utilizar, para que servem e onde as obter; onde e como descarregar ebooks em vários formatos a partir de sites online; onde encontrar edições gratuitas de livros eletrónicos na Internet e como desenvolver edições de autor em que cada pessoa pode publicar e distribuir um ebook da sua autoria.

Talteen! Linkeistä löytyi mm. neuvoja e-kirjan tekemisestä uusilla välineillä. Beta-vaiheessa olevaan Liber.io -sovellukseen lähetin heti liittymispyynnön. Myös MS Officen julkaisutoiminta oli juttu, jota en ollut aiemmin huomannut.

If you own an e-reader you often can only buy e-books from the bookstore that is bundled on your device. Many of the budget e-readers out there don’t even have a bookstore that is accessible by users and many people are left to fend for themselves to load content on it.

Here is a comprehensive free e-book resource catalog online. All of these books are hardware agnostic, which means they are not locked by DRM (Digital Rights Management). All you have to do is simply download a title and load in via the USB cable from your computer to your e-reader. Many of these sites also provide the books in more than one format, so they will work with your Amazon Kindle, Kobo, Barnes and Noble Nook, Sony e-reader and hundreds of others.
