Social Is Seo And Content Is Social [Infografic]

Social Is Seo And Content Is Social [Infografic] | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

You probably have already heard that Social Media is the new SEO, too. The reason isn’t rocket science. Major search engines are focused on delivering the best possible search experience to their users.

Otherwise, they cease to become “major” search engines. That being the premise — sites offering more relevant content get more visibility in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages).

The Anatomy of Tomorrow's Inbound Marketing Strategy Today [Infografic]

The Anatomy of Tomorrow's Inbound Marketing Strategy Today [Infografic] | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

There are many schools of thought and methodologies defining what inbound marketing should look like. Most of them position content marketing, social media marketing and SEO as the core of inbound marketing. From a 20,000-foot view, this has definite merit. However, with the right technology, enough content, well-developed personae and a good understanding of the brand, inbound marketing strategy can be much more stratified and robust.

Why human rights workers at Amnesty’s International Secretariat are taking strike action…

Human rights workers at Amnesty International’s global headquarters, which is mainly based in London, will be striking on Wednesday 17 October. The walk out is over what many staff see as a serious breach of trust by an Amnesty senior management that refuses to honour agreements. The strike was sparked by the management’s unilateral withdrawal without warning of the redundancy policy just a couple of hours prior to releasing details of a restructure that will potentially make dozens of employees redundant.

What we may learn of Mahatma Gandhi | Noozmag

What we may learn of Mahatma Gandhi | Noozmag | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

He was born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in the town of Porbander in the state of what is now Gujarat on 2 October 1869.

Mahatma Gandhi (that means “big soul” Gandhi) taught the world faith in truth and justice for all mankind. He was a great soul who loved just those who fought against his ideals to bring about peace with non-violence.

His goal was to help to alleviate poverty, liberate women and end the caste discrimination system, with the ultimate objective being self-rule for India. He tried to stop the conflict between Hindus and Muslims which led to his assassination by a fanatic Hindu in 1948.

Here the Top Ten Fundamentals of Gandhi:

1. Change yourself
2. You are in control.
3. Forgive and let go.
4. Take care of this moment.
5. Without action you aren’t going anywhere.
6. Everyone is human.
7. See the good in people and help them.
8. Persist.
9. Be congruent, be authentic and be true to yourself.
10. Continue to grow and evolve

Simple but effective ideas!

Learn to think differently! Try to change yourself!

The SEO Puzzle: The Most Important Pieces [Infographic]

The SEO Puzzle: The Most Important Pieces [Infographic] | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

It doesn’t really matter how much you study it, it’s almost impossible to get the perfect SEO (Search Engine Optimization) score for any long period of time.

Each search engine has their own algorithm to rank websites, and as if that wasn’t complicated enough, they change that algorithm frequently in order to perfect it and make sure that the same sites don’t hog up the top positions simply because they’ve figured out the x-factor in the algorithm to dodge other more popular sites that have the traffic, content mass, and extensive Internet presence enough to be ranked at the top.

I would probably need an endless number of articles to cover all the different aspects of the perfect SEO, and if I tried to do that, I would probably not be able to pinpoint it anyway.

Graphs on Human Rights Violations in the Middle East

Graphs on Human Rights Violations in the Middle East | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

NGO-monitor.org shows the amount of effort of Human Rights Watch groups in Middle East to combat violations. These are their statistics for the resources of help and the violations:

“Examining Human Rights Watch in 2008: Double Standards and Post-Colonial Ideology”

“Chart: Proportion of HRW resources devoted to each Middle Eastern country in 2008”

“The graph below shows how HRW's relative focus has changed since 2005. Focus on Syria and Jordan has risen steadily, while attention to Iran and Egypt is falling. Israel's line reveals a steady increase, if the 2006 figure is excluded.”

“This table provides strong evidence that HRW singles out Israel for special attention, and applies unique standards compared with other countries in the Middle East. Israel is subject to particularly harsh and unjustified condemnation, using terms that delegitimize its policies and military operations. The peak in Palestinian numbers in the chart shows a limited attempt at "balance" in HRW coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, including limited acknowledgement of Palestinian human rights violations, reflecting an adjustment following previous NGO Monitor analyses.”

You've got some excellent sources compiled here! Great job on that. You've 're-scooped' a lot of articles, which is just fine. What I'd like to see is your perspective on those articles. What does this article bring to your readers? Do you agree with all these authors? If I've only got a minute, can you summarize the article in 2-5 sentences? I'm very encouraged by what I see here to feel that you'll turn in a great final project.

Can You Gamify Content Curation? New Startup Woisio Thinks So | GigaOM | Business Improvement and Social media | Scoop.it

Excerpted from article on GigaOM:

"Many video curation startups do away with the old-fashioned programming guide to help users find TV shows and online clips. Turkey-based Woisio, which launching its private beta Monday, takes a little bit of a different approach: it keeps the guide – but gets rid of the programmers. Woisio wants to instead use game mechanics and collaborative filtering to compile a new set of channels, and in turn get rid of the traditional middlemen.

Here’s how Woisio works: The platform offers viewers a number of different channels, called stages, including comedy, style , music, politics and so on. Each of these channels is programmed to show clips at a certain time, but users can skip forward or go back and catch up on past programming.

Videos can be up- and downvoted, much like stories on Reddit.

The votes translate to a virtual currency, which the publisher of a video can then use to bid on future air time for other clips. The basic idea behind this: Publishers get rewarded for popular content, and programming becomes a bit of a marketplace. Think virtual stock exchange, but for content curation..."
